Corporate Osteopathy

Idea

With the high daily pressure, workers end up experiencing high levels of stress. Obligations and responsibilities push health and wellbeing to the bottom of the priority list.

In osteopathic clinical practice, it is common to encounter situations with office workers on a daily basis where prevention would be the best form of treatment.

Furthermore, recurring situations with the same patients reveal the need to extend treatment to the workplace, identify the causes, and minimize health risks for workers by creating favorable conditions for recovery and maintenance.

This situation allows for impact not only on health and morale, but also on employee productivity and, consequently, on the company.

Project

In the demanding environment of technology and creative companies, the Corporate Osteopathy Project emerges as a practical and effective workplace solution to promote musculoskeletal health and boost productivity.

Each osteopathy consultation is specifically designed to meet the needs of each professional, treating neck, back, and lower back pain, as well as muscle tension associated with long periods of sitting at a desk and repetitive motion tasks.

The Project aims to contribute to the health, wellbeing, and productivity of corporate professionals, promoting a healthier work environment.

Productivity

Productivity in a company can be difficult to measure, however, productivity can be affected by its employees due to, for example:

  • Absenteeism due to poor health;
  • Presentism (lack of concentration and low productivity);
  • Back pain (dorsalgia or low back pain);
  • Neck pain (cervicalgia);
  • Costs with occupational illnesses;
  • Stress;
  • Headaches (cephalaches and migraines);
  • Reduced morale;
  • Obesity;
  • Depression.

Benefits: For Employees

  • Relief from accumulated pain and tension: Reduction in common symptoms such as neck pain, lower back pain, shoulder stiffness, muscle tension, and headaches.
  • Increased energy and wellbeing throughout the day: Workers with less pain feel more motivated, focused, and productive.
  • Easy access to healthcare: On-site sessions, without the need for travel or time away from the company.
  • Long-term prevention: Regular monitoring allows for early identification and correction of dysfunctions that, if ignored, can lead to injuries or prolonged absences.
  • Personalized counseling: Targeted guidance for simple adjustments to the workstation and daily habits, promoting comfort and injury prevention.
  • Personal appreciation: Feeling cared for by the company reinforces a sense of belonging and professional motivation.

Benefits: For the Company

  • Reduced absenteeism due to pain or injury and reduced sick leave due to musculoskeletal complaints;
  • Improved overall wellbeing at work, fostering a healthier, more motivating, and positive environment;
  • Reduced downtime due to fewer interruptions due to physical discomfort or outpatient appointments;
  • Flexibility and adaptation to team needs, with service tailored to the company's reality and pace;
  • Optimized employee productivity resulting from less physical discomfort and improved work focus and efficiency;
  • A healthier work environment reduces tension, improves mood, and strengthens organizational culture;

We routinely do our work and suffer in silence or accept the fact that it's part and parcel of working in a seated office. But it's everyone's duty to take care of their own health and be aware of persistent or recurring warning signs and take action to improve their work experience.
